Definition of Sound Level Meter
The sound level meter is a measuring instrument used to measure sound pressure levels (on which it depends). Specifically, the sound level meter measures the noise level that exists in certain place at a given time. The unit that works is the decibel sound level meter. If curves (INTEGRATOR) are not used, it is understood they are (db_ {SPL}).
When the meter is used to measure what is known as noise (annoying noise of a particular soundscape) must take into account what is to be measured, because the noise can have many causes and come from sources very different. To address this wide range of (continuous, impulsive, etc.) have created environmental noise specific sound level meters that allow measurements relevant to noise.
